A managing agent came to us with a block of lock-up garages where the original asbestos cement roof had reached the end of its life. The sheets were cracked, heavily mossed and leaking into several units, damaging tenants' stored belongings. With asbestos present, the whole run needed removing and replacing rather than patching.

What Work Was Carried Out?
- Surveyed the full block and confirmed the corrugated sheets as asbestos cement.
- Sealed off the work area and damped the sheets down to suppress fibres.
- Removed each sheet by hand under controlled conditions in full PPE and RPE.
- Double-wrapped all waste and disposed of it through a licensed asbestos carrier.
- Re-roofed the entire run in new galvanised steel box-profile with fresh flashings and guttering.

Were There Any Challenges?
Access between tenants' parked vehicles was tight, so we phased the work bay by bay. That kept most garages usable throughout and meant no one lost access to their unit for more than a day.
